We would like to say a huge thank you to The Sweeties who put on a live performance of singing and music this afternoon. The Sweeties are all original members of the Thornton Le Dale Ukuleles Strummers Music Group. A wonderful afternoon was had by residents, staff and family members. Tiffany (Deputy Manager) and Ron (Resident) really lit up the dancefloor.
Here are some residents enjoying activities organised by Anne, one of our Activities Co-ordinators. Residents had a great time spending an afternoon “reminiscing at the seaside” and another afternoon themed on “pubs and inns” which involved sampling local beer!
On the 17th July 2019 staff attended a training day which involved a virtual dementia experience. The virtual dementia tour is medically and scientifically proven to be the closest that a person can be given to experience what it is like to have dementia. All staff found the training really beneficial and it gave everyone a greater understanding and empathy as to what it is like to live with dementia.
