Bonfire Night
We enjoyed hot dogs and fireworks on bonfire night.
We did a spot of indoor gardening last week as it was too cold and wet to be outside!
It certainly feels autumn is well and truly here. A few residents enjoyed an Autumn stroll today. Don’t forget the clocks change this weekend!
Arts and Crafts this afternoon with Anne our Activities Co-coordinator. Ron turned out to be a natural having never done weaving before. The products will be finished off next week and turned into Owls for the Autumn Display.

Shoe Box Appeal
Plans are underway once again to fill shoe boxes for children in third world countries. Any donations of soap, flannels, pens, pencils, toys etc will be gratefully received. Anne our Activities Co-coordinator will be decorating and filling shoe boxes with the residents.
Musical Memories “Happy Hour” is an award winning, fun, social singing session featuring some of the best loved songs of the 20th century. Everyone is provided with a songbook in large print for easy reading and singing is accompanied by live piano and guitar. All friends and family are welcome to come and join in the session on 30th October from 2-3pm. Tea and home made cake will be on the go as usual! We look forward to seeing you.
Thank you to all staff, residents, families, friends, neighbours and local businesses who supported our fundraising event in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support and in memory of Eileen, one of our lovely residents who sadly passed away recently. We raised an amazing £180. The day involved a raffle with prizes kindly donated by local businesses – Thomas the Bakers, Hunters of Helmsley and the Star at Harome along with prizes donated by families members and staff. We had a pets on parade competition and took lots of selfies! Here are a few photos:
3 Residents, Bill, Jenny and Betty had a great time meeting old and new friends at Musical Memories in Kirkbymoorside a couple of weeks ago. It was a lovely way to spend a couple of hours and we plan to do more outings to Musical Memories in the future.
Ron used to own and show Shire Horses and had a lovely day today visiting Friars Hill Riding Stables followed by a lovely lunch at Beadlam Grange Farm Shop Cafe
